Use blogs to drive traffic and keep customers in the loop

A website is an ideal way to showcase what your firm does – and using blogs is the best way to keep that relevant.
By posting blogs, your website can be a platform from which you can update information, react to events, and boost your visibility through better SEO (search engine optimisation). This works hand-in-hand with reaching a strong network of contacts, interested in that information.


Who will read your blogs?
Regularly updating contacts is of huge importance. Ensure you keep details up to date and frequently check email addresses are correct. Continue to monitor social media contacts, adding new ones and updating existing ones. This should safeguard any blogs you add to your website have a ready audience. Using your network of contacts is a great way to drive traffic back to the website. Post links on social media and in emails that customers, and suppliers, can follow to keep updated.
Blogs also help to boost SEO through the clever deployment of keywords and posting fresh content. Think about what customers visiting your website would search for and the keywords they would use. Then write a blog that makes good use of these.


What to write about.
The most obvious subject to write a blog about for many businesses is new products – a few hundred words on what the product is, when it is available and what it can bring to the marketplace.
For service-based businesses, there is still plenty of scope to write engaging blogs about the latest developments or emerging trends. Use the opportunity to show your expertise in your field; don’t be afraid to share your thoughts on what is going on. Use headlines that pose a question then explore the pros and cons of situations and developments.


Lists and tips are also a great way to break down information.

Blogs are also a useful way to answer questions clients ask, and to show what your company does by writing case study examples.

Blogs can be a brilliant boost for customer relations – give them a field to engage by writing testimonials packed with positive feedback.
As well as sharing the link on social media and email, you can repurpose blogs to gain further exposure. Turn it into an article for your LinkedIn profile – just condense it to make it more specific.

If customers are interested in your product they will be interested in your news too, so take that step into blogging and enjoy the benefits it can bring.
